Well, today October 4th 2008 a new chapter in the history of American politics and American life will be written. We will either vote the first African American president into office or the first female vice president. But, forgetting all of that, what can be said is that for the past two years the fight for white house has proved to be a thorny one. We left behind candidates that were sure to have a running chance to candidates we thought would never have a fighting chance. But what this 2008 race has proved is that anything can happen and the American public has proved had tradition has no place in contemporary American politics anymore. This race has in more instance than not proven that America has come a long way from time Jim Crow laws prevented African Americans from sitting at the same table with Caucasians Americans or drink from the same water fountain. Indeed today will be a historic day and whoever gets that sought after seat will change the course of American history forever.
Both McCain and Obama are worthy opponents. Both of them have unique skills that would steer this country in a direction opposite the collision course it is on right now. The race if we can admit has been a dirty one but such is politics and such is American politics. Obama with Biden as his wing man and McCain with Palin as his wing woman will address the needs of the American people they so see fit, What concerns me though are the promises noted during the campaign by both candidates. I just hope the candidates keep there word but my instincts and history tells me otherwise. Nevertheless, as Americans we need to exercise our civil duties and check the box today. If we do not then we simply do not have the authority to complain when laws and services provide don

Is this country really for a black president?????
I don’t really think so…..
That is why you have a choice Grant. You have another option if that issue is holding you back.
Here is an interesting site If The World Could Vote (so far the world seems ready for Obama), http://www.iftheworldcouldvote.com/results
Grant, the question not be if this country is ready for a “black” president but rather “Obama”. And why don’t you think so?
Seems like America is ready…
