If you cannot afford 120GYD for a phone call then how could you possible afford to travel abroad should a holiday visa be granted to you? And seriously, are you telling me that you will return to Guyana under those living conditions if they grant you a visa??? I don’t think so!

That is why relatives send money to family members in Guyana, MakeSense…to help alleviate the burden of living in a country whose president seems to be handling all responsibilities… Don’t worry,,,,there is always ROGER

There are some people who can afford it and some who cant, also relatives do assist to pay for their relatives tickets/expenses.What is the big deal if poor people get a chance to travel or work? Everyone deserves a chance to do better and who are you to judge?Do you know how much people pay just to get a work permit to any country? And they do return to their family and use that money to build a house and have a better future. And even if they dont choose to come back can you blame them? What makes it okay for you to live in a better country/life – dont you think other deserve the same? Innocent people are struggling and it doesnt matter whether relatives in the US or Canada send a 50 or 100 dollars and think that solve everything. That is for paying two bills and people will still be poor. Its time for Bharrat to get the hell out of there. And Guyana need to get help asap. Look at Trinidad,Jamaica,Barbados,Aruba how developed they are.Guyana is beautiful too and with help from England they can do better also.

This is a difficult time for Guyanese all over the world who depends on VOIP to keep in touch with their love one. I’m surprised of the selfishness of those who approve such action and applaud it. I taught we want to move from a poor country to a develop country, blocking VOIP is a step backward.

It is not only Internet cafe’s that suffers; those who have individual internet connections at home also suffer.

I think if they want a peace of the pie, then get into the business–not kill it. It cost my cousins $3US/hr to call New York on their VOIP appliance. I’m sure they won’t mind paying that to those who wants it.
