President Bharrat Jagdeo will be departing Guyana today for India on an unprecedented mission that is likely to bring a major boost to the provision of health care services to this country.
The Guyana Government has sealed a soft loan agreement with the Indian Government for the establishment of a specialty hospital in Guyana manned by a team of experts from that country.
The move in the long-term will significantly reduce the cost incurred on Guyanese to travel for specialist health care, particularly in the area of heart surgery, hip replacement and internal medicine among others.
