You’re right..if we all do a little the there is a greater impact than very few doing a lot. It all starts with simple things such as recycling…
For those of us who have trees in our back yards though don’t cut them down, the trees are our source of nice clean oxygen, who doesn’t need oxygen??????

The problem is people are waiting for the government to do that. We have to start taking initiatives and make changes in our own lives, no matter how trivial it may seem.

    very true

    Sofly,
Exactly! When I see people cutting down trees and cementing their yards, it breakss my heart. My neighbour, a Guyanaese even decided to remove the grass that lines the sidewalk and put peebles instead. His yard had about seven beautiful trees before he acquired the house..now it is cemented all around and the green is gone. What a way to have no yard work come Fall.

The attention of the citizens of this country is called upon many things, including this topic of caring for the planet. We have been trained to be lazy and dependant upon the government. This should never happen in any country, rich or poor. The citizens must always take the initiative to be active members of society in all aspects.

its funny the way people think, when we go on to other countries or states we love the outdoors, the trees the grass…but when you get to your house its all concrete…makes no sense
People … Plant a tree save our environment

  7. Sayed says:

    What are you doing SoFly?

  8. soflyg35 says:

    What are you doing????
what does that mean? ask a real question

  9. sayed says:

My question is what actions are you taking to benefit the environment so we all can learn and collaborate if we can?

    its just simple things like
    - not littering – I hate to see people liter and in NY there is no shortage of people that just love to litter.
    - Recycling (I am a strong believer in recycling)
    - planting trees or even a bush I think makes a difference
    - maintaining your car properly (oil chance ect.) I have an issue with these city busses and school buses, most of them just spit out black smoke its disgusting.
Just over the weekend I saw my neighbor cut down a huge evergreen tree from his front yard, its not like the branches we even touching his house. I believe if we all do one or more of these things as little as it may seem the impact can be a great one.

SoFly- the perfect human being tryin to save the earth-boy i must say you can really sell your self…i.e cheap. You seem like the type with all the big talks in his mouth and less action. So how much trees/bush you plant recently? What you plan to do about your issues with city busses?Man, you should be working in a charitable organisation-you’d do a whole lot better there.Anyways, have you donate to poor recently?Plan on sending some food to Haiti perhaps?
Beware everyone-SoFly is the new messiah!

  12. Annand says:

Reader, sarcasm doesn’t help anyone. Instead of mocking SoFly’s efforts why not follow suit? Tell us what you are doing for your environment.

  13. SoFlyG35 says:

Reader maybe you can read less and do more , because I don’t think you can read very well.plus the only Messiah I know off is Jesus, don’t worship me that would be silly.
What have YOU been doing to help the environment? Hope you’re not a MTA bus driver…lol

-SoFly, i’m a facilitator at Peace Corps and I’m an accountant. In Guyana we dont need to plant trees/bushes cause its everywhere. In each yard there’s about three fruit trees.

-On most blogs you seem to talk alot, its so easy for you to give advise but i suggest that you start practising what you preach. And my assumption is that you didnt plant any trees[at least not recently].

-I’m tired reading blogs about everyone perspectives/suggestions what they think is best.It is all all easier said than done.Instead of making suggestions why dont you do something that really matters.

-Guyana is a third world country suffering from Poverty and STD’s.Donate books, clothing, toys, foodstuffs, blood, health care…anything….There are hundreds or orphanages/shelters in Guyana/Caribbean.Help People so that they can live, they can have a life and the knowledge and wisdom to go on.
It is cheaper and easier for people to Donate to Salvation Army. But there are others suffering too.Help people so to live…

SoFly this one for you. Please click on the photo gallery-i volunteer to help those kids.I stood there and witnessed they went to bed without dinner, they dont have a home,no parents and no education.I am trying my best to encourage people to donate to Guyanese children also. They are my priority and i am doing the best i can to find them a home, family and a future they deserve.

And ofcourse you can see all the green in the pictures. Most parts of Guyana do not recycle; either a dump site/bury or rarely burn.So my dear friend i dont have to be a MTA bus driver.I know i am good at what i do and i am happy that i can help someone each and everyday of my life.

Reader, What makes you think you know me, you have no clue as to who I am or what I’m all about so stop, I said we should all do simple things not all of us were ment to save the world, all I said is that we all need to do our part, I really dont think you can read very well. I do what I can not want pepole want me to do, so if you think you can do more go right ahead the last time I checked this was not a competation.
The little I do is better than doing nothing and thats my message, thats why I encourage people to do something as little as it is.
P.S blogs are ment for talkers the last time I checked, also not that I need to prove anything to you I planted a tree in my back yard this afternoon…shows how much you think you know, wisen up man….wisen up.

  17. Reader says:

Seems like you were inspired somehow and then went to plant your tree. The way you write i thought that maybe you planted several trees already.Blogs are meant for criticism as well.Guess you had your share of laughs with the MTA bus driver. Well its just my perspectives that everyone know what they have to do, some dont really care much and its easier to admonish readers but only few will try hard enough to help.

  18. SoFlyG35 says:

Reader…….go save your kids and shut the hell up
    you’re annoying me now

  19. Reader says:

SoFly your very inspirational to us all.Thank you so much for your comments. You are extremely intelligent. Please dont pollute the world with your anger, we have enough angry people already.Just a reminder, please go water your tree cause it very hot in N.Y.
